MARCH 16&17 - Beautification is a part of the GAC.  58 trees were planted at Fred Green Park and The Heights

The Heights park was a special challenge.  The park was overgrown with the landscape dominated by weeds and vines.
The maintenance crew from the city of Palatka were invaluable in clearing the property.
A number of dead and diseased trees had to be removed.
March 20 through March 25 was also the time of the Putnam County Fair.  Keep Putnam Beautiful decorated and staffed a booth at the fair.  Here Sally Jacob and Jim Townsend proudly point to the Blue Ribbon for the civic division.

APRIL 8, 2006 - GEORGE'S LAKE CLEANUP Bill and Edwina Chitty served as coordinators this year for the annual cleanup.  Keep Putnam Beautiful donated hotdogs, chips, and drinks fpr the cookout.  Many of the residents also brought desserts for the post clean up celebration.   We ate at the pavilion of Etoniah State Forest.  Scott Crosby of the Forestry Service helped with the cleanup and provided a dump truck.
