Art 'N Harvest MarketThe Art and Harvest Market begins Saturday, November 5, 2011 and will run through the end of May, 2012, each Saturday from 9 am-2 pm, in the courthouse parking lot in the 400 block of Reid Street.
This is an opportunity for local farmers, artists, craftsmen and other vendors to showcase their fresh produce, products, and art work for consumers. Homemade breads, jams and jellies, and freshly canned goods are amongst the good things we like to offer. Artisans also present their art work and display hand-made items, jewelry and different types of novelty goods in a lively, festive atmosphere. Five free non-profit spaces are available each Saturday for educational or children’s activities (call ahead to reserve).
It is our intent that this community market will provide an urban/farm linkage, due to the growing consumer interest in obtaining fresh products directly from the farm. Farmers markets allow consumers to have access to locally grown, farm fresh produce and enables farmers, artists, and craftsmen the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with their customers. We also invite and encourage entertainers, musicians, choral groups, and street performers to participate.
The goal of the Art ‘N Harvest Market is to provide a public meeting space that allows farmers, artist, craftsmen, and vendors to sell their products directly to consumers, to provide a friendly environment with a diversity of products and entertainment for customers, in an effort to assist in the revitalization of our local economy and to create a vibrant public space in Downtown Palatka.
No flea market items are allowed and all arts and crafts must be original. For more information, call Keep Putnam Beautiful, (386)325-9598.
