Recycling Regatta

Recycling Regatta Rescheduled for November

The Keep Putnam Beautiful 2011 Recycling Regatta has been rescheduled for November 12, 11 am, beginning at the City Dock and ending at the Amphitheater. 

There’s still time to build a vessel to show an innovative way to reuse items, promote your organization, and support recycling.  Everyone is invited to participate, businesses, organizations, families, churches, individuals or groups. 

There are four prize categories, first prizes/fastest to the finish, will receive $100 cash donated by Sunrise Marine and Christie Sanford; the People’s Choice, selected by the spectators, will receive a night’s stay at the Best Western Inn of Palatka, the Most Original (selected by judges), will receive a $20 gift certificate to Chili’s of Palatka, and the Saltiest Dog, the vessel that sinks the fastest or best, will receive four hamburger platter dinners, donated by Angel’s diner. We encourage creativity and imagination.

 The entry fee is $20 per vessel prior to the race; $25 the day of the race. Early registration is encouraged, as the race is limited to 25 vessels.Vessels must be at the City Dock by 10 am. for registration and inspection by judges.
